Rachel qualified as a solicitor at Mills & Reeve in 1984 and became a partner in 1990. She heads a team specialising in the resolution of commercial disputes. In 1997, she was awarded an LLM in Advanced Litigation by Nottingham Law School.
Rachel has extensive experience of commercial litigation, including contract disputes, product liability, partnership and shareholder disputes and litigation arising out of corporate transactions such as misrepresentation and breach of warranty claims. She has particular expertise in disputes relating to restrictive covenants and confidential information. She also deals with intellectual property litigation including copyright, design right, trademark and passing off disputes. Recent cases include directors' disqualification and professional negligence claims.
Rachel has over 25 years experience in negotiating settlements and has acted as a mediator for over 15 years. She has mediated disputes in the following areas:
construction and engineering disputes
contested probate and Inheritance Act claims
